Documenting Gig Income (Uber, DoorDash, Instacart & Co.)

Updated July 2026 · PaystubWiz Help Center

Gig platforms pay weekly and report yearly (1099-NEC or 1099-K) — but they don't issue pay stubs, and that gap surfaces the moment you apply for housing or an auto loan.

Start with the platform's own records

Every major app exposes earnings statements: Uber's monthly tax summaries, DoorDash's earnings tab, Instacart's weekly summaries. Download them — they're your source of truth.

Consolidate into one clean statement

Multiple apps? Build a single earnings statement per period from the platform totals, listing each source. Keep YTD math consistent with what the 1099s will say in January. Attach the platform screenshots as backup pages.

The banker's view

Underwriters discount gig income that looks improvised and reward documentation that reconciles: platform statement → your consolidated stub → bank deposit, same numbers all the way down.

Rebuild a missing pay record

True figures from your bank statements + W-2 in, clean earnings statement out.
